This system measures the distance (time) to the seafloor by transmitting ultrasonic pulses to the seafloor and receiving the reflected waves.
It has a built-in inclinometer, and if the inclination exceeds a predetermined value, the inclination can be detected by the change in the transmission cycle of the pinger.
